24 hours in Hong Kong

The last city of our trip was Hong Kong. We arrived by train at Shenzhen North Station and from there we took the metro to the border. We crossed the border (we really walked over a river) and then we were in Hong Kong. First we went to our hotel, the YMCA of Hong Kong. We had a room with a beautiful view of the Hong Kong island.

In the evening we took the Star Ferry to the island. This is the cheapest public transportation in Hong Kong, only 2,50 HK$ for upper deck. For dinner we me Silvana and her Kurt, she’s a friend of mum from High School. We had delicious Indian food.

After dinner we went Mong Kok night market, which is like you image a market to be, but just 100 times bigger and you can really have everything.

In the next morning we packed our luggage, because it was already the day we were leaving. We enjoyed breakfast and then left the hotel to the island again. We visited IFC (International Finance Center) and then took a tram.for sightseeing.
We weren’t really hungry for lunch so we just had a subway sandwich. Then we went to the Ocean park where we did shopping again. We went to Uniqlo and Muji. Luckily we bought an extra suitcase the evening before at the market….

In the evening we had some Macau / Portuguese food before we took the airport express. But we didn’t actually go to the airport, we could check-in our luggages at the in-town check-in. It was really convenient. In the same building we went to the Ozone bar, the worldwide highest bar. The view of Hong Kong by night was just magnificent!!!!

This was the perfect closure to.our stay in China and Hong Kong. We enjoyed some time up there before we headed to the airport.
