Day 1 in Xingping

On our first day in Xingping we decided to rent bicycles in our hostel. Our plan was to drive along the Li river. But our first stop was just outside the village. There is a platform, from where the mountains on the 20 RMB note were drawn. There we took the mandatory tourist picture….

We went on with our bicylcles and wherever we looked there were always the carst mountains. We continued riding bikes and once we had to take a ferry to cross the river. We rode the bikes until the street ended. There we locked our bikes and we walked along the river. The river is really touristic and there are hundreds of boats going up and down.

We walked about one hour, but it was really exhausting because it was hot and the humidity was really high. The feeling was similar to the one in the Masoala Halle. On the way back we made a break at a small side river where we cooled our bodies and Felix even took a bath.

Entering the cooled hotel after the biking & hiking then felt like leaving the Masoala Halle…

We took a rest in the hotel and then explored Xingping, which does not take long because the village is quite small. In the evening we enjoyed a beautiful sunset on the rooftop of our hostel.

For dinner we had an Italian pizza made in a pizza oven in our hostel. Mhhh…
